DISCARDING RECORDS - Class of 2019

Pupil Personnel Programs will be destroying any and all special education/504 records of students who graduated or left the district on or before June 30, 2019.  These records may be helpful or necessary for future referrals to social security and other state services.  These records will be destroyed on July 1, 2025.  If you are a former special education/504 student, or you are the guardian of a former student and would to have the records, please contact the Office of Pupil Personnel Programs at joanne.white@meridenk12.org BEFORE JULY 1, 2025 to make arrangements to pick up the records.  If you have any questions or concerns, please call 203-630-4177.

In accordance with board policy and consistent with state and federal statutes, the Office of Pupil Personnel Programs is responsible for the administration and supervision of programs for exceptional children and supportive services for all students in the Meriden Public Schools. The Office of Pupil Personnel Programs screens and evaluates all children over age three who are referred for special services and recommends appropriate planned programs of study that will benefit the referred student. Yearly reviews of students’ progress are also coordinated through this office. All of our schools offer excellent support services for our students, as well as the Venture Academy, which is a specialized program for our special education high school students.
